Let us embark on this adventure.  Together we will learn the art of digital storytelling, of capturing the attention of the viewer and making them see the world through new eyes, our eyes.

Falcon Productions is a new program at Maui Waena Intermediate School which will integrate the art of storytelling with technology.  We will be participating in many exciting endeavors together.

Our primary project will be a partnership with Hiki No, a PBS run program in which middle and high school students from across the state will be able to work together in collaborative teams to create entire thematic shows centered around feature stories that showcase the Islands through the eyes of students.

We will also be competing in a number of contests, both local and national.  These will consist of PSA’s and short movies.

Some students will be selected by merit and commitment to attend the national STN competition to be held at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

We will also be applying our storytelling and media skills to create a school newspaper which will be available in print and online.

Other projects will include covering local and school events in print and video.

Students will be encouraged to join the Media Club which will be hard work, time consuming, stressful, frustrating, and so much fun!
